With Ableton Link, the song tempo and the current beat can be synchronized with other devices.
Ableton Link uses broadcast messages on the local network for communication. Therefore, it only works if the devices are on the same network/Wi-Fi and SongBook+ has permission to access the local network. When you enable this feature for the first time, the operating system will ask you if you want to grant permission to access the local network.
SongBook+ can send the tempo set in the song's metronome settings to other devices via Ableton Link when opening the song, send start and stop commands to other devices, and respond to start and stop commands from other devices.
For example, an external metronome can take the tempo from SongBook+ and then start synchronously with SongBook+.
Unfortunately, Ableton Link can only transmit the tempo and the beat phase but not the time signature, meaning it cannot specify which beat should be emphasized.
Since the playback tempo of songs in SongBook+ is fixed and cannot be changed, SongBook+ does not respond to tempo changes requested by other devices.
