Backing Up and Restoring Your Data

The following pages show how you can back up your data to your computer and how to copy the backed-up data back into your SongBook+ (or onto another device).

ATTENTION!

Regular backups of your data are important!

You will, for example, be glad to have them in the following situations:

• Your iPad is broken.

• Your iPad was stolen.

• An error in the file system damaged the database file of SongBook+.

• After an update from SongBook+, the database was adapted to the new software version, but you still need a database for an older version of SongBook+.

• A software bug destroyed the database.

• You regret changes you've made to your data and want to revert to the state from a few weeks ago.

A complete backup of the iPad also includes SongBook+ and its associated data. In the event of loss or damage to your iPad, you can quickly restore a replacement iPad along with data from such a backup.

For other reasons mentioned above, where a somewhat older version of the data is needed, this is not sufficient! Especially with the standard automatic iCloud backup, it could well be that the desired state of the data has already been replaced by another automatic backup, which may also contain the faulty data.
